Making a difference for a special need child by students of Bukit Batok Sec Sch

Back in early month of April , we had a visitation by 4 students (Afiq, Crystal,  Yongan and Bryan) and their teacher, Ms Liu from the Bukit Batok Secondary School class 3n1. They came to know about Danielle' s Story through our CNY goodies sale published on the Straits Times Newspaper in Feb 2015.

In a team of just 4 individuals, with guidance and encouragment from Principal Ms Chamb and form teachers Mr Pu and Ms Liu, they raised $1,500 for Danielle and raised awareness about Spinal Muscular Atrophy in Bukit Batok Secondary School. Wow!

Personally, I felt $1,500 is an impressive sum coming from students! Despite their super busy schedule, the team of 4 did all planning and execution. They went to every classroom to gather donations for Danielle's cause. What touches us is their big heart and their effort in making time to understand Spinal Muscular Atrophy,  gathered donations and counted the dollars and coins for a good cause.

Our heartfelt thanks to Ms Chamb who initiated this project and gave her strong support throughout the project; Mr Pu and Ms Liu who sacrificed their personal time to guide the team of 4; Afiq for taking up the challenge to champion this project; and the key members Crystal, Yong An and Bryan, without their support, the project would not be able to take flight.

With such great leadership and compassion from educators who walk their talk, students from Bukit Batok Secondary School definitely have good role models shaping their growing up years!

I told the team of 4, if I am their parents, I would be so proud of them.

As parents of Danielle,  we are awe by the generousity and compassion of our country men, young and old. This visitation surely make a difference in Beth's and Danielle's life. It's something that cannot be taught from books as it comes from the heart.
