New Buggy for danielle

Image
During the long festive season holiday, we finally found the time to try out a pre-loved buggy that a fren gave us. It is a rolls-royces version in the buggy world. We are very fortunate to get it. Perfect for Dan. Now what the buggy lack of is a canopy to shade her from the sunlight. Anyway, last sat we gave a trial run at the downstairs of our flat. We brought Danielle to the playground.. This was actually Danielle first time going to a playground. As she watches at a distance how her sister slide down the slide and doing the stuff that what a normal kid love to do.

Danielle's mask collection

Image
The last mask that Danielle wore which I've posted on the last blog didn't work well on her. It turn out that it too big for her nostril. It causes abrasion on her nostril. Here are the display of some of the mask that we have collected over the few months. (Do look out for a mask that don't fit in the group.)

Finally we found a mask that suit Danielle as the old mask was getting smaller. Compare to the old one it give the user a wider view. Also the leakage were much reduced.

Baby Monitor

Image
There alot of interferences from our previous baby monitor and that really annoying especially in the middle of the night when you're sound a sleep. The last thing you want to hear is a loud high pitch sound deliver by the monitor. After many sleepless night cause by the monitor. We decided to get a new monitor unit. The new monitor features - come with adjustable sound sensitivity, uses light to indicate if baby makes a noise, allows you to talk to your baby and soft nightlight to comfort baby.

Danielle's New SUV

Image
We have a new stoddler/buddy for Danielle. Thanks to a friend whom help us to bring it in from the States. This buddy able to carry up to 45kg of load and it weight only 10kg. Danielle's existing stoddler is really outgrown her size and we are looking around for one that fitted her size and needs. With her needs and size it quite difficult to find one locally. It only has to be specially import in from other countries and this will not cost cheap. Thanks to this friend, we need not have to look around anymore. There still some adjustment to the buddy and Danielle getting used to her new SUV Car. This coming sunday, when we goes for church service , We'll put it to a test drive.

Bath Chair

Image
As Danielle has grown quite a bit, the existing bath chair already outgrow her size. With the recommendation from our physio therapist. We got this bath chair, thinking that it should last us another few year for its length. But Danielle just fit in nicely with just little room to spare.

Equipment that Danielle use

Image
These are the equipments Danielle is using. The first equipment is the oximeter-this allow us to monitor her oxygen saturation and her pulse rate. This is the humidifier and the CPAP machine. The humidifier makes the air humid. The CPAP machine helps to filter off any dust and bacterial, and blows the humidified air into the airways and help Danielle to breathe better. Next, the suction cateter and suction machine which help to suck Danielle's secreation. The cateter will go into her nostril and nasal area to suck out the mucus. As Danielle cannot swallow on her own, we also suck her saliva to reduce the risk of her choking on her saliva.

Milk Pump- Which milk bag to use?

Image
Eversince Danielle cannot tolerate bolus feed , she has to resort to continuous feeding round the clock 24/7. Through continuous feed, small amount of milk is pump into her stomach on a regular basis. The good side of continuous feed is it helps to take off the feeding load from the caregiver. However, the milk bag which needs daily replacement is rather costly. We did a research on the milk pump available in the Singapore market and tried on 3 different pumps to see how user friendly a they are. We even went to the Internet to search and compare the cost of bring in from US. Finally we settle down with the Kangaroo milk pump, as it's milk bag is the cheapest among other brands. Milk pump rental is not cost effective for long term usage.
