Today is day 38 that Danielle is not well

Today is day 38 that Danielle is not well. She caught 2 nasty bugs in Dec that keep all of us on our toes. She is much better now with loose secretion and she is on oxygen. Last week, her phlegm was yellowish and thick, tainted with blood that blocked up her trachy tube. If it not for the cough assist machine and Dr Choong / Nurse Serene from Starpals that came by to help us nurse her at home, Danielle most properly will be spending her Christmas and New Year in the ICU. It seem that every year end, many special needs children with weak immunity fall ill. For the past few years, it had been a routine for us to celebrate Christmas or New year in the Hospital with Danielle. Danielle using the Cough Assist Machine

The latest toy for Danielle is the ‘CoughAssist’ to manage her respiratory airway daily. "Cough Assist" will help Danielle to trigger coughs to get her secretions out of the airway. With “Cough Assist” machine at home, we can do ‘coughing’ for her and it helps to maintain a clear airway, in return improve her quality of life. We came to knew of this machine 4 years old, but wasn't available in Singapore. Even if it available, the amount of the machine is abt $20k. By then, even we wanted it then isn't any doctor would want to gave a try on her. It was as if saying even you have the money you can't buy it. Last year, when we heard there vendor brought in this machine. We jump straight in to search and arrange to let the Doctor allow my child to use this machine. Last January, when Danielle was down with respiratory issue again. We take this chance to ask the Doctor and Physiotherapist perform the cough assist on her. After we try on the cough assist machin...
