My Princess Danielle

Few month ago, We celebrated Danielle's 12th birthday in a happy occasion. Team from Starpal and Danielle's fav  Medi-minder Auntie Kay paid us a visit. Its the team from Starpal that makeup of doctor, nurses, social worker and medi-minder have been supporting us all this while. Although we unable to see much facial expression from Danielle due to her condition. Through her eye we able to tell that she was delighted for this occasion. She was given a watch and pepper pig as present.

Danielle enjoys the painting session. When she want to paint, she will voice out ' Color..'  also the color that she want to use. After finish painting the fish, she show a accomplishment look.

This year our country celebrate its 50th Independence Day. As it is 50th Birthday, there alot of celebration ongoing through out the year and Danielle also dress to this special occasion.

Over the last Sat 18 July2015 afternoon, our family were treated to a event over at the Royal Palm, the Flyer. We were treated to food buffet, balloon sculpture, magic show, massagers for all the Uncles and Aunties. Manicure session for all the mummies, aunties & also myself. On the 13th March 2015, Thanks to Club Rainbow that both my wife, Rebekah and my helper brought Danielle to the River Safari.  Danielle had a fun time watching different type of fishes living in the Amazon River, Nile River. Expose herself to the open. A different experience she had with the last year December visit to the Sea Aquarium.    

Danielle was able to use her mouth to blow the bubble. Something a great achievement for her and for us to witness it are a heart warming session. It just method of time with practise she will be able to prefect it. The other time, we uses other method to blow the bubble.

    Danielle touching the Starfish Early birthday celebration with Danielle and her elder Sister Beth Starting of the new year sat night, Thanks to RDSS for organised a trip to the Sea Aquarium where  just for the whole group of RDSS family and even spent the night there infront of the gallery ( facing the aquarium). Danielle didn't spent the night there as she was still recovering from her flu. There no usual crowd there so we can take our time viewing the marine life. This was Danielle second time there and she enjoyed watching the fishes. We also got a chance to has a early birthday celebration for both Danielle and her elder sister Beth right infront of the gallery. What a memorable time for both of them and a good start of the new year.

On Sunday 28 Dec 2014, we went to Christmas Party at the Singapore Flyer. There was a fake Santa Claus, face painters , food buffet and good scenery. There was a fish pond near the restaurant, where there is lots of fish to feed. The party was organized by Eunice Olsen and MDAS ( Muscular Dystrophy Association Singapore) Written by Beth Seah. Family portrait has always been on our mind to capture the precious moment. Last year, December 2013, we were invited to a event organise by the Star Pals and with Help-Portrait Singapore for a day at the Jurong Bird park.

Last Sunday was sunny day and we brought Danielle out to the balcony for a sun taning session. We managed to catch the best of the day as later in the afternoon it started to rain non stop till late in the evening. We started playing bubble and Danielle join in the fun by using her bipap to blow bubble. After awhile she seem to get the hang of it. This moment seem to stood still - a precious time where me and my wife will remember and forgetting we had a special kid in the family.

 The theme for the Tea Party was one of Danielle's favorite cartoon character agent OSO.  This Tea Party was held last Sunday and happened to be a Easter Sunday. It was made possible from the 'Make a Wish' Team in Singapore. Whom organise and prepare all the food, drink and the decoration. It actually a mini celebration for Danielle. We wish for 'Lifting Hoist' that able us to transfer her from one point to another without having to the hurt the caregiver back. It came to a point where Danielle is just to heavy for us to carry her. Also not hurting her while transferring. We invited friend that been journey with us to the party. With their support, the journey with Danielle came much lighter. Also it the first time we brought Danielle to the dining table. Previously we were not able to do so as the height of the bath chair wasn't high enough. I did some modification to the height of the bath chair. So now she able to join us for meal together. T...

This afternoon we attended the 'Project Smile' organised by Rae and the hospital and this was the 4th year running. This tea party was specially cater for the hospital homecare patient and their caregiver. Both of my two daughters dress to the occasion of being the princess belle. It was a time fun with ballon sculpture, face painting, performance and family photo shoot. But most of all getting to meet up with other parent with special need child.

Danielle is preparing for a coming tea party organise by the hospital- Project Simile.Before this happen, Danielle will have to admit on coming wednesday to hospital to replace her worn off jg button and check the trach area. The replacement of the button has to be carry under GA and this shedule on thursday. Till then praying that everything will go well for this coming procedure.

This is Danielle second time drip herself into the water tub experience the weightless feeling. The last time we did this was when she was 6month old together with her elder sister. That time she was not so soft yet, that didn't require her to carry the diving gear into the tub. Seeing her floated up experience the weightlessness, really gave us great joy that all the effort are worth it. My elder daughter beth made a unique spectacles for Danielle. Initially, when we put in on her it took her awhile to figure out. After awhile, i capture this precious moment.

In midst of the stay, Danielle find her own way of entertaining herself. But it is the videoshow that keep her occupy most of the time.

Finally Beth's my elder daughter recovered from her sickness and it was back to her normal self. As for Danielle, she no longer need to be isolated away from her sister afraid for catching the infection.

A tough week for us as Beth my daughter was sick having fever that came on and off during the night. Which mean no sleep for daddy and mommy for 3 night plus next day need to work. It was this precious moment, that i capture her laughter. Due to her low tone muscle, there not much of facial expression and she lost her smile long time ago. So this laughter is so precious as for her to laugh, she need to make a lot of effort.

We made a point once a week to bring Danielle out to sun her. Actually it just to bring her out of the house away from the four walls where she spend most of the time.
