Primary One Registration
Every year around month of June and July, it a busy and stressful year of almost every Singapore parent whom child ready to start their first year in the primary school system. This preparation may go as far as moving your house just to be nearer to the choice school that plan to sent their child there. Or volunteer your service to the ideal school just to secure a place for our child.
Next year Danielle will be 7 year old and it the age that compulsory for every citizen to register for a place in any primary school. As Danielle's sister was studying in the particular primary school, it is automatically that she has grant a place in her sister's school.
When the school call me up to inform this news, I inform them that Danielle won't be going to any school or even special school due to her medical condition. With this I need to seek for her exemption from the Ministry of Education. With the attachment of the Danielle's medical report, the Ministry of Education take note of her case and grant her the exemption.
How I wish that she will be able to be with the rest of the kids that register and receive a education. But I just has to accept that she is different from the rest. Prefer home schooling is the only option for her. We continue to explore this area.

We felt the same tinge of sadness when the preschool opened its registration for new intake. We had reserved a place for C in the same school big sister went to when he was little.
