My Princess Danielle

After posting up the video clip, a friend of us commented that Danielle did show her interest. But we just didn't aware of her responds. When we go back to view the video clip again- to our surprise Danielle attempted to pronouncing the word 'E-le-phant' twice and indicated her desire by looking the 'Yes' card a few time. Until she got fed up and switch off as we just didn't got her message. This days we started to introducing the schedule card system to keep Danielle advance notice of the day activties which ready keep her aware of what coming up. All children don't like surprise - same goes to Danielle too. Aleast now her bedtime doesn't stretch as before. All this was taught by her special education teacher.

As my previous post on the YES & NO card to communicate with Danielle. Here the video clip of her while we figuring out what she want to watch. In the end, she loses interest by looking elsewhere.We going back to basic to establish a communication with her before we advance it using the mytobii device.

Though we managed to has a device that able allow Danielle to communicate with us. That device will still require time and practise for Danielle to learn to how to use it. We manage to engage a special education teacher whom familiar with assistive technology to come to our place to teach Danielle. Twice a week she will comeby our place to have a 45 min session with Danielle. Scheduling  the right timing  to start off the lesson sound has a bit of difficulty. Danielle might be sleeping as she tend to wake up early and later goes back to sleep. Trying out the YES & NO card, below is what we should ask her; Watching which show- Danielle, do you want to watch bunnytown show? Yes or No ? #You want to watch Bunnytown ? (nods head, point at YES ) #No- you want to choose again? (shakes head, point to NO) Sound easy, but to the person speak out the question require patience and alertness to look out for her eye contact. We excited ...

Over the weekend, we attend the second time the event - Project Smile which organised by a mommy Rae. This event had been organised for the 5th year. A tea party event for the Children, parent and caregiver to spend an afternoon that aim to GIVE A SMILE for the family. Beside a Yummy lunch, there exquisite face and body painting services. Attach the Danielle's face painting pic. We manage have the same mommy whom did the face painting for Danielle last year event.

Danielle trying out her new Toy This is a season where we are just amazed by what God have blessed us.Within first half of this year, the machine and device that we wanted to get for Danielle appear in-front of us. For this to happen, it really not  our work but with God that brought us to cross path with people whom journey with us, pray with us and cheer with us. This really cause our heart's ( both me and my wife ) to overflowing with Gratitude , Thankfulness, Appreciation and Blessing. Thanking the Lord for thoughtful of you that have in way of another helped us in this journey with Danielle. The latest toy for Danielle is the ‘CoughAssist’ to manage her respiratory airway daily. "Cough Assist" will help Danielle to trigger coughs to get her secretions out of the airway. With “Cough Assist” machine at home, we can do ‘coughing’ for her and it helps to maintain a clear airway, in return improve her quality of life. We came to knew of this machine 4 years old, but wasn't available in Singapore. Even if it available, the amount of the machine is abt $20k. By then, even we wanted it then isn't any doctor would want to gave a try on her. It was as if saying even you have the money you can't buy it. Last year, when we heard there vendor brought in this machine. We jump straight in to search and arrange to let the Doctor allow my child to use this machine. Last January, when Danielle was down with respiratory issue again. We take this chance to ask the Doctor and Physiotherapist perform the cough assist on her.  The theme for the Tea Party was one of Danielle's favorite cartoon character agent OSO.  This Tea Party was held last Sunday and happened to be a Easter Sunday. It was made possible from the 'Make a Wish' Team in Singapore. Whom organise and prepare all the food, drink and the decoration. It actually a mini celebration for Danielle. We wish for 'Lifting Hoist' that able us to transfer her from one point to another without having to the hurt the caregiver back. It came to a point where Danielle is just to heavy for us to carry her. Also not hurting her while transferring. We invited friend that been journey with us to the party. With their support, the journey with Danielle came much lighter. Also it the first time we brought Danielle to the dining table. Previously we were not able to do so as the height of the bath chair wasn't high enough. I did some modification to the height of the bath chair. So now she able to join us for meal together. T...
